Once over here, there is no need to stay for the entire vacation. Savannah, Hilton Head and Bluffton are just a boat ride away. And they make an excellent day trip!
The Daufuskie Island Ferry offers an “Island Hopper” pass. This is a discounted rate ticket for visitors to the island. Take a day to go over to Hilton Head and explore their eateries and shopping.
Or take a trip to Old Town Bluffton with May River Excursions. They dock right in Old Town, which is a beautiful artsy district with an array of shops and restaurants within walking district. Or give May River Excursions a call to have them take your family in shore fishing and crabbing.
Bull River Marina runs trips from Wilmington Island to Daufuskie. Just a short Uber away from downtown Savannah, this could be a fantastic day trip to the historic city.
Our only recommendation is to remember that not all boats dock at the same location. Make sure you know exactly where they are picking you up and where they are taking you. This way you don’t end up stranded on the mainland!
