Offered exclusively on Daufuskie Island, ride through the untouched historic roads on horseback. This one and one-half hour to three hour ride is designed to accommodate all levels of riders, from beginners to advanced.
Start your day with a gorgeous ride to Daufuskie Island on either the Daufuskie Island Ferry or May River Excursions’ Water Taxi. Once you arrive to Daufuskie, a Tour Daufuskie representative will meet you at the landing with a golf cart to explore the island before and after the trail ride.
Tour Daufuskie has teamed up with Daufuskie Trail Rides in providing water transportation to Daufuskie Island, as well as a golf cart to get you to and from the trail ride. And why come to Daufuskie for just the trail ride? Enjoy everything Daufuskie has to offer and stay for the day!
Once you have booked your trail ride with Daufuskie Trail Rides, select your water transportation and duration of your stay with the golf cart here. Please note, this is only the water transportation and golf cart. This does not include the trail ride.
The historic ride will take you down sandy roads laden with Lowcountry oak and pine. You will have the opportunity to take in sites such as the historical First Union African Baptist Church, Mary Field’s School where famed author Pat Conroy taught, Gullah homes dating back to the nineteenth century, and live oaks hundreds of years old.
Trail rides can accommodate up to 6 riders. Riders must be at least 12 years of age, however all level or riders are welcomed! Horses can accommodate riders up to 250 lbs and 6’6″.
